Hello again my couch potato friends! I have recently been MIA but am now back and better than ever. Now let's talk movies...
The Boss is about a very successful CEO who is a woman that goes from rags to riches back to.. well, rags. She gets in big trouble for insider trading and goes to prison. When she gets out she has nothing left to her name. So she goes to live with her ex employee and has to build her empire from the ground up. How? you might ask. With none other then girl scouts selling some delicious brownies!
The plot of the story is good. I personally like how in the beginning of the film you get to see how
this big CEO lived before she became who she is. It also gives you a feel of why she acts the way she does. Now with all that said, I do feel like there were some points they might have dropped the ball on the story. For example the storyline between Michelle and her enemy is kind of a sloppy backstory. I feel like they should have had something better than a stupid job promotion get in the way.
The actors made me laugh so many times. The comedic connection between Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Bell was out of this world. I don't even know if I could just narrow one scene down between them and say it was better than the others because it was that good. If I must give an example though, I would choose the bedroom scene when they are talking about what bra Claire (Kristen Bell) should wear for her date. I have to let you guys know I might be a little biased cause Melissa McCarthy is probably one of my favorite actresses.
On the technical side everything looked and sounded fine to me. I might have not been that focused on that aspect as much, but I think that let's you know that nothing really distracted me from the story line. And let's be real thats the main objective when making a movie.
On my rating scale I would have to give this movie a 5 out of 5. What?! Yes a 5 out of 5! This movie just made me literally LOL. It is so hard to actually make people laugh, especially with movies. So when someone executes it correctly it can be like fireworks. You may not agree with my rating or with the things I said so let me know below what you thought. Did you think it was a flop or a home run? And as always, stay lazy my couch potato friends.
